In order to make the navigation between Podio and SmartGantt easier, you can put direct links of the Gantt chart into the app in Podio. This can be done very easily.

Let’s try to do that in our basic example. You can find the basic example on: https://smartgantt.com/creating- basic-example/

Here you can see the chart we want to link with Podio. It is the following chart:

In order to do that, we should first click on the “Browse Existing Charts” button, that is found in the left-hand side menu.

The reason we did that is because we want to move to the list with our saved charts. In this list there is a web-link which we are going to use for our chart. In our case, our chart is shown on the top of the list.

All we need to do is copy the “Unique URL” of our chart.

Be careful! After selecting the “Unique URL” with the mouse, press on the shortcut buttons for copy (for example, press Ctrl + C for Windows) before unclicking with your mouse! In other case, you will be transferred to your chart without actually copying the URL.

So after unclicking the following image will appear, but now we should stop with SmartGantt for a while and continue with Podio.

We need to go to the workspace that we have the app that is mapped on Podio. After that, stay on the activity page and do not enter the app. Just scroll down till you find an “Add tile” box, at the right. Click on “Add tile” option.

As you can see, a menu appears. Click on the “Link, or  ”Image” option (as we do in this tutorial).

The tile has changed. Just click on the “Upload file” option.

Next thing to do is choose a SmartGantt image. In this example, the image is SmartGantt logo, but you can choose whatever image you like. I would suggest you use a screenshot of your chart.

The image is successfully inserted. Now, we need to write a title for this tile, I suggest the title of our chart. Next, we need to click on the little earth icon, in order to put a weblink.

Paste the chart URL that we have previously copied, in the blank form that is shown on screen.

Perfect! A workspace widget pointing to your chart has just been created!

Do you want to move this workspace widget on the top, so that you can see it better? Just drag n drop it by grabbing the top of it.

How can we move to the chart? That’s easy, click on the image of your widget and it will take you to your chart.
